1About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings for the hire of a camper van (“LoraLee”) from LoraLee Campers.
The person making the booking and entering into the Hire Agreement is referred to as “the Hirer”, “you” or “your”.
By making a booking, paying a deposit or taking possession of the Vehicle, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions form part of the Hire Agreement between you and us.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Please read through all the terms and conditions carefully. You can contact us in relation to this hire policy by writing to us at the above email address
2Booking Eligibility
The Hirer must be at least 25 years of age and no older than 75 years of age at the start of the Hire Period, unless we and our insurer have agreed otherwise in writing.
All drivers must:
- hold a full and valid driving licence appropriate for the Vehicle
- have held their driving licence for at least 2 years
- meet the eligibility requirements of our motor insurer
- provide all documentation and information reasonably required by us or our insurer
- disclose any driving convictions, penalty points, disqualifications, accidents, claims or medical conditions that may affect their ability to drive or obtain insurance cover; and
- comply with any additional requirements imposed by our insurer.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking where a proposed driver does not meet our insurance requirements.
Only drivers expressly approved by us and covered under the applicable insurance policy may drive the Vehicle.
The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that all information supplied in connection with the booking is complete, accurate and up to date.
3Driving Licence and Identification Checks
Before the Vehicle is released, each driver may be required to provide:
- their original driving licence
- a DVLA licence check code where applicable
- proof of current residential address
- photographic identification, such as a passport
- payment card details; and
- any other documentation reasonably required for identity, security or insurance purposes.
Failure to provide satisfactory documentation may result in the Vehicle not being released.
Where this happens because the Hirer or an additional driver has failed to meet the stated booking or insurance requirements, our cancellation terms may apply.
4Booking and Payment
A booking is only confirmed when:
- we have accepted the booking
- the required booking deposit has been paid; and
- you have received written booking confirmation from us.
The total hire price will be confirmed at the time of booking.
A booking deposit of 50% is payable when the booking is made.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than two months before the start of the Hire Period.
Where a booking is made within less than 2 months of the Hire Period, the full hire price will be payable at the time of booking.
If payment is not received by the required date, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you, subject to the cancellation provisions set out below.
Any mandatory fees and charges will be disclosed to you before you complete your booking.
5Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit of £500 is payable no later than 2 months before collection of the Vehicle.
The security deposit is held as security against amounts properly payable by you under the Hire Agreement, including where applicable:
- damage to the Vehicle
- the applicable insurance excess
- loss of or damage to equipment or accessories
- missing items
- additional cleaning
- fuel or charging costs
- toilet cleaning or emptying charges
- late return charges
- parking charges, tolls, congestion charges and similar charges incurred during the Hire Period
- fines and penalties for which you are legally responsible; and
- reasonable administration costs associated with dealing with charges or incidents arising during your Hire Period, where these have been clearly disclosed to you.
We will not deduct sums from the security deposit without reasonable justification.
Where a deduction is made, we will provide reasonable information explaining the reason for the deduction.
Any undisputed balance of the security deposit will normally be returned within seven working days following the return and inspection of the Vehicle.
If the amount properly due exceeds the security deposit, you will remain responsible for the outstanding balance, subject to these Terms and Conditions and applicable law.
The security deposit (bond) is £500 and is payable in accordance with the payment requirements set out in your booking confirmation.
The £500 security deposit is refundable following the return and satisfactory inspection of the Vehicle, subject to these Terms and Conditions. In the event of damage to the Vehicle or its equipment during the Hire Period for which you are responsible, we may retain all or part of the security deposit and apply it towards the reasonable cost of the damage, repair, replacement or other sums properly due under the Hire Agreement. Where the properly recoverable costs exceed the security deposit, you will remain responsible for the outstanding balance, subject to applicable law and insurance cover.
Where external damage to the Vehicle occurs during the Hire Period and an insurance claim is required, you will be liable for the applicable Vehicle insurance excess, currently £1,500 per incident, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the applicable insurance policy.
The £500 security deposit does not limit your liability to £500 where a higher amount is properly payable under these Terms, including the applicable £1,500 insurance excess or losses arising from damage that is uninsured or falls outside the scope of insurance due to misuse, negligence or a material breach of these Terms.
6Insurance
The Vehicle is provided with motor insurance subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions and excesses of our insurance policy.
Details of the applicable insurance cover, excess and any significant exclusions will be provided to you before or at the time of hire.
The standard insurance excess is £1500.00 per incident.
You may be offered an optional excess reduction product at an additional cost. Any exclusions applying to that product will be clearly explained before purchase.
Insurance cover may be invalidated or restricted where the Vehicle is:
- driven by an unauthorised or uninsured driver
- driven while the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- driven recklessly, dangerously or negligently
- used for an unlawful purpose
- used in breach of material insurance requirements
- taken outside an authorised geographical area; or
- used in circumstances specifically excluded by the applicable insurance policy.
You may be responsible for losses arising from conduct that invalidates or falls outside the insurance cover, to the extent permitted by law.
7Collection of the Vehicle
The Vehicle must be collected from:
Address provided on full payment
on:
Date of agreed hire between 14:00 and 15:00. Exact time will be provided at the point of booking. Return time is between 10:00 am 11:00 am.
Pick up and drop of times are flexible with prior agreement.
You should allow sufficient time for:
- identity and driving licence checks

- inspection of the Vehicle
- familiarisation with the Vehicle and its equipment; and
- the handover process.
You will be given an opportunity to inspect the Vehicle and record any existing damage before departure.
You must notify us of any damage or discrepancy that has not been recorded on the Vehicle condition report before leaving the collection location.
8Condition of the Vehicle
We will provide the Vehicle in a roadworthy condition and, so far as reasonably practicable, clean and ready for hire.
You must take reasonable care of the Vehicle throughout the Hire Period.
You must regularly check and respond appropriately to warning lights and, where relevant, check:
- engine oil
- coolant
- tyre condition and pressure
- AdBlue
- fuel or battery charge; and
- any other routine items explained during the handover.
You must contact us promptly if you become aware of a mechanical problem, warning light or defect.
You must not continue to drive the Vehicle where doing so may be unsafe or may cause further damage.
9Permitted Use
The Vehicle may only be used for private leisure and travel purposes unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
The Vehicle must not be:
- used for racing, speed testing or competitions
- used for towing unless expressly authorised
- used for carrying passengers for hire or reward
- overloaded beyond its legal weight limits
- used to carry more passengers than there are designated seatbelts
- driven off road, except for reasonable access to recognised campsites or similar locations where appropriate
- used for any unlawful purpose
- used in a reckless or dangerous manner
- used to transport hazardous or illegal substances; or
- taken into any country or territory not approved by us.
You are responsible for ensuring that the Vehicle is parked securely and locked when unattended.
10Passengers and Seatbelts
The number of occupants must not exceed the Vehicle’s legal passenger capacity.
All passengers must use the appropriate seatbelt or legally required child restraint while the Vehicle is moving.
You are responsible for providing and correctly installing suitable child seats unless we have expressly agreed to provide them.
11Mileage
The hire price includes 1000 miles during the Hire Period.
Any mileage above the included allowance will be charged at 0.35p per additional mile.
The Vehicle’s mileage will be recorded at collection and return.
12Fuel and Electric Charging
Your security deposit will be used to re-fuel the vehicle if required.
The Vehicle will be supplied with a FULL TANK.
If the Vehicle is returned below the agreed level, you will be charged an administration charge of £20 plus the cost of the missing fuel.
You are responsible for ensuring that the correct fuel is used.
If the Vehicle is misfuelled, you may be responsible for the reasonable costs arising from the incident where the misfuelling was caused by you or an authorised driver.
13Pets
Pets are not permitted in the Vehicle.
14Smoking and Vaping
Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the Vehicle.
If there is evidence of smoking or vaping inside the Vehicle, you may be charged the reasonable cost of specialist cleaning or rectification required as a result.
15Cleaning
The Vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean and tidy condition.
You are not expected to return the Vehicle professionally cleaned unless this has been specifically agreed.
Additional cleaning charges may apply where the Vehicle is returned in an unreasonably dirty condition requiring cleaning beyond the normal turnaround process.
Examples may include:
- excessive mud or dirt
- stains requiring specialist treatment
- excessive pet hair
- smoking or vaping residue
- food or drink contamination; or
- excessive waste left inside the Vehicle.
Any cleaning charge will reflect the reasonable cost of the additional work required.
16Toilet and Waste Facilities
Where the Vehicle contains a portable toilet (Porta Potti) or cassette toilet, it must be fully emptied, cleaned and returned in a clean and hygienic condition at the end of the Hire Period.
If the portable or cassette toilet is returned without being emptied and properly cleaned, a £50 cleaning fee will be deducted from the security deposit (bond). This charge reflects the additional specialist cleaning and sanitation required.
The grey water tank must be fully emptied before the Vehicle is returned. Grey water and toilet waste must only be disposed of at appropriate and authorised disposal points.
17Cooking Equipment
You must use cooking equipment and heating systems in accordance with the instructions provided.
You must not modify, interfere with or attempt unauthorised repairs to any appliances.
Gas appliances must not be used while the Vehicle is being driven unless specifically designed and legally permitted for such use.
You must take reasonable precautions against fire, burns and carbon monoxide risks.
18Awning Use
The Vehicle awning must only be used in suitable weather conditions and strictly in accordance with the instructions provided during handover.
The awning must not be extended or left deployed during high winds, strong gusts, heavy or persistent rain, storms, snow, or any other adverse weather conditions which may cause damage.
You must retract and secure the awning immediately if weather conditions deteriorate and must never leave the awning deployed while the Vehicle is unattended.
You will be responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing damage to the awning or Vehicle caused by misuse, negligence, failure to follow the instructions provided, or failure to retract the awning in unsuitable weather conditions, subject to applicable law and the terms of the applicable insurance cover.
19Automatic and Mechanical Car Washes
The Vehicle must not, under any circumstances, be taken through or cleaned using an automatic, mechanical, drive-through or roller car wash.
This restriction is necessary due to the Vehicle's height and fitted equipment, including the pop-top roof, awning and other external fittings.
If cleaning is reasonably required during the Hire Period, the Vehicle must only be hand washed using suitable non-abrasive products and methods.
You may be responsible for the reasonable cost of any damage caused by taking the Vehicle through a prohibited car wash or using an unsuitable cleaning method.
20Collection and Return Times
The Vehicle must be collected and returned at the times specified in your booking confirmation.
Collection time: 14:00 – 15:00
Return time: 10:00 – 11:00
If you expect to be late, you must contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Unauthorised Late Return
If the vehicle is returned to the premises any later than original agreed time then charges will apply at a minimum cost of one full day’s rental charge regardless of circumstances. Should the late return of the vehicle make us liable for extra costs to other customers, we reserve the right to pass on these costs to you. By signing this document, you agree to us making such deductions.
21Early Return
If you voluntarily return the Vehicle before the agreed end of the Hire Period, you will not normally be entitled to a refund for unused hire days.
This does not affect any rights you may have where the early return results from a breach of contract by us or a fault with the Vehicle for which we are responsible.
22Cancellation by You
If you wish to cancel your booking, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible.
The following cancellation charges will normally apply:
Cancellations on or before 80 days before the start of the rental period – 25% of the hire fee will be payable.
Cancellations on or before 70 days before the start of the rental period – 50% of the hire fee will be payable.
Cancellations on or before 30 days before the start of the rental period – 100% of the hire fee will be payable.
Any cancellation charge will be applied in accordance with applicable consumer law and will reflect our reasonable anticipated losses arising from the cancellation, taking account where appropriate of costs saved and our ability to rehire the Vehicle.
If we are able to rehire the Vehicle for all or part of the cancelled period, we may take this into account when calculating the cancellation charge where appropriate.
We strongly recommend that you obtain suitable travel insurance that includes cancellation cover.
If you change your booking date, we will only honour booking deposits for a period of 1 year from the receipt after which time the booking deposit is forfeited and this will not be returned to you. This can only be changed twice, and our cancellation notice above still applies.
23Cancellation by Us
We may cancel your booking before the Hire Period where:
- the Vehicle becomes unavailable due to breakdown, accident, theft or circumstances outside our reasonable control
- you fail to meet our driver or insurance requirements
- you provide materially false or misleading information
- you fail to make payment when due; or
- we reasonably believe that providing the Vehicle would be unlawful or unsafe.
Where we cancel because the Vehicle is unavailable and you are not at fault, we will offer, where reasonably possible:
- alternative dates; or
- a refund of payments made for the affected hire.
We will not be responsible for losses that we could not reasonably have foreseen when the contract was entered into.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
24Breakdown
In the event of a breakdown, you must:
- stop in a safe location
- contact the breakdown provider using the details supplied with the Vehicle; and
- notify us as soon as reasonably possible.
You must not authorise repairs costing more than £100 without our prior approval, except where emergency action is reasonably necessary to prevent immediate danger.
Where a breakdown is caused by a mechanical fault that is not attributable to your misuse, negligence or breach of these Terms, we will take reasonable steps to assist you and, where appropriate, arrange repair, recovery or an alternative Vehicle.
Any refund or compensation will depend on the circumstances, including the duration and impact of the breakdown and your statutory rights.
Your van has 24-hour breakdown recovery. In the unlikely event of a breakdown, recovery or repair service will be provided by AA Breakdown service. If they cannot repair the problem, you will be recovered back to home base.
25Accidents
If the Vehicle is involved in an accident, you must:
- stop and make the scene safe
- contact the emergency services where appropriate
- not admit liability or make any promise of payment
- obtain the names, addresses, telephone numbers and insurance details of all relevant parties
- obtain details of any witnesses
- take photographs where it is safe to do so
- record the location and circumstances of the accident
- notify us as soon as reasonably possible; and
- complete any accident report documentation requested by us or our insurer.
You must cooperate reasonably with us and our insurer in relation to any claim or investigation.
26Damage to the Vehicle
You are responsible for taking reasonable care of the Vehicle during the Hire Period.
On return, the Vehicle will be inspected and compared with the condition recorded at collection.
Where new damage is identified, we will provide reasonable information about the damage and any proposed charge.
You will be given a reasonable opportunity to raise any dispute regarding damage for which you are alleged to be responsible.
Your financial responsibility for insured damage will normally be limited to the applicable insurance excess, subject to the terms and exclusions of the insurance policy.
You may be responsible for uninsured losses or damage caused by misuse, negligence or a material breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
27Tyres, Windscreens and Undercarriage
Responsibility for damage to tyres, wheels, windscreens, mirrors, roof, awnings and the Vehicle undercarriage will depend on the circumstances of the damage and the scope of the applicable insurance cover.
Any significant exclusions from insurance or excess reduction products will be disclosed to you.
You may be responsible for damage caused by misuse, negligence or failure to take reasonable care.
You will ensure that the tyres are not damaged before hire and ensure that the wear is legal. During your hire period, if tyres and/or wheels are damaged, the cost for refurbishment will be required.
28Keys
You are responsible for taking reasonable care of all Vehicle keys supplied to you.
If a key is lost or damaged due to your negligence or misuse, you may be charged the reasonable cost of replacement, reprogramming, locksmith services and associated Vehicle recovery.
29Theft
If the Vehicle is stolen or you believe an attempted theft has occurred, you must immediately:
- contact the police
- obtain a crime reference number; and
- contact us.
You must provide all reasonable assistance required by us and our insurer.
You may be responsible for losses arising from theft where the loss resulted from your negligence, deliberate conduct or a material breach of the insurance requirements, subject to applicable law.
30Personal Belongings
You are responsible for your personal belongings during the Hire Period.
We are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings left in the Vehicle unless the loss or damage was caused by our negligence or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
We recommend that you obtain appropriate travel insurance for personal possessions.
31Fines, Penalties, Tolls and Charges
You are responsible for parking charges, tolls, congestion charges and other road use charges incurred in connection with your use of the Vehicle.
You are also responsible for fines and penalties where the law makes you liable for them.
Where we receive a notice relating to your Hire Period, we may provide your details to the relevant authority where legally permitted or required.
Where we incur reasonable administrative costs in dealing with a notice arising from your Hire Period, we may charge an administration fee of £100.00 per hour, provided this fee has been disclosed to you and is proportionate to the work involved.
32Travel Outside the United Kingdom
The Vehicle must not be taken outside MAINLAND UK without our prior written permission.
European or international travel may be subject to:
- additional insurance requirements
- additional breakdown cover
- documentation requirements
- geographical restrictions; and
- an additional charge.
You are responsible for complying with the driving, equipment, environmental zone, toll and road traffic requirements of each country visited.
33Festivals and Events
The Vehicle may not be taken to festivals, sporting events or similar large scale events without our prior written agreement.
Additional conditions or security deposits may apply where disclosed and agreed at the time of booking.

- sub hire or lend the Vehicle to another person
- allow an unauthorised person to drive
- sell, dispose of or attempt to sell the Vehicle
- make alterations to the Vehicle
- remove permanently installed equipment
- use the Vehicle in connection with criminal activity; or
- deliberately or recklessly damage the Vehicle.
A serious breach may result in termination of the Hire Agreement and recovery of the Vehicle.
35Our Liability
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for business losses where the Vehicle is hired by you wholly for private and personal purposes.
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- your statutory consumer rights.
We will not be responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control except where the law provides otherwise.
36Your Responsibility
You are responsible for losses and costs reasonably incurred by us as a direct result of:
- your breach of these Terms
- deliberate or reckless misuse of the Vehicle
- negligence
- use by an unauthorised driver; or
- conduct that invalidates applicable insurance cover.
You will not be responsible for losses that are unrelated to your actions or breach, or which could reasonably have been avoided or mitigated by us.
37Events Outside Our Control
We will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform our obligations where caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If such circumstances significantly affect your booking, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and explain the options available.
Your legal rights will not be affected.

Where such technology is used, information about how and why data is collected and processed will be set out in our Privacy Notice.
Tracking technology may be used for legitimate purposes including Vehicle security, theft prevention and recovery, fleet management and emergency assistance, subject to applicable data protection law.
41Changes to Your Booking
Requests to change booking dates, drivers or other booking details are subject to availability and our insurance requirements.
We will inform you of any additional cost before agreeing to the change.
If the revised booking costs less than the original booking, any refund will depend on the timing and circumstances of the change and our applicable cancellation terms.
42Transfer of Booking
You may not transfer your booking to another person without our prior written agreement.
Any replacement Hirer or driver must meet our eligibility and insurance requirements.
43Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
44No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions, this does not mean that we have waived our right to enforce it later.
45Third Party Rights
Unless expressly stated otherwise, no person other than you and us has any right to enforce the Hire Agreement under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
46Governing Law and Jurisdiction
